Oxidation of metal powders in the natural environment is an important factor in the instability of the quality of diamond bits. Although the metal powder reduction process has now been employed, it is usually the reduction of the elemental metal powder prior to mixing. The reduced powder is subjected to subsequent processes such as mixing, cold pressing, molding, and hot pressing. Due to the large surface area of the powder, secondary oxidation occurs in the powder during the subsequent process. In the hot and humid region, this secondary oxidation brings The consequences are particularly obvious
We can think that the reduction before the hot pressing process is the most thorough reduction, and it is very necessary; the higher the pre-alloying degree of the powder before hot pressing, the better.
In order to solve the above two problems, we have adopted a high-pressure reduction process of cold-pressed cutter head.
After high temperature reduction of the cutter head, the performance is quite stable. Sampling and sawing tracking tests were conducted for more than 5 consecutive months. The performance of each batch of saw blades with the same ingredients was stable and there was almost no difference.
For the tip of the micro-adjustment of the ingredients, obvious differences can be seen in the sawing test. This is because after all the influencing factors have been eliminated, the formula is adjusted a small amount, and the saw blade performance will reflect the corresponding changes.
We have done a comparative cutting test. The cutting head after the cutting piece has been used as the cutting head has a significantly improved sharpness and longevity than the cutting head which has not been subjected to the reduction process after the cutting head. The comparison test increased by 30% and 55%. The comparison test results are: (the cutter head size is 40x3.2x8, the saw blade diameter is 350 mm, and the spindle speed is 2850 rpm)
In the manufacturing process of diamond sintered cutter heads, the most important concern and solution is the oxidation of metal powder. The same formula of the cutter head, the phenomenon of unstable quality, powder oxidation is the main reason. The reduction process after cold pressing of the cutter head eliminates the influence factors of the natural environment, completely reduces the metal powder, and also produces the effect of pre-alloying, which is a guarantee for stabilizing and improving the quality of the product.
